The Tarring Club has recently re-opened which is a positive step forward.
The club is having to adjust to the new regulations of social distancing, one-way systems, cleanliness, etc. and the chess club committee is staying in touch to see how they are getting on.
To resume chess in September, current guidelines indicate we would have to organise a risk assessment and then play potentially with perspex shields, gloves, masks etc. and cope with cleanliness issues on the sets and boards.
The hope is that over-the-board chess can resume at the Tarring Club in the new year. For now, the AGM and subscriptions are on hold until we have a planned restart date (hopefully you have all received a copy of the accounts by email recently).
The Mid Sussex League has announced that the league is on hold, probably until the new year, although they will review the situation every couple of weeks.
If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback, please get in touch.
Nick Skinner, Chairman
