Latest News 20th November

The Mid-Sussex League is setting-up an online league for the 2020/21 season.
Please let me know by Sunday 22nd November if you are interested in playing and I will enter team(s) accordingly.

Here is a summary of the key points:

  • All-play-all league, split into divisions if there are a sufficient number of entries.  6-8 matches over roughly a 6 month period, starting in December, with a match played every 3-4 weeks

  • Teams of 4 players

  • One game per pairing, 25 minutes each plus a 10 second increment

  • Matches to be played at 7.30 on a set day of the week (Wednesday).  Captains may vary the date of a fixture by mutual

  • Playing platform will be Lichess

Our membership ranges from the enthusiastic novice up to county strength players with grades ranging from 40 to 200. We also have a small, but growing, number of juniors.
From September to June we hold club nights every Monday at The Tarring Club (see map below) from 7:20pm for friendly games, club competitions and league matches.
Worthing field four teams in the Mid Sussex League - three in Division 1; and one in Division 3.
We also run several internal club tournaments which are open to all paid-up members.
