WCC Ladder & Rapidplay Competitions

Members who wish to play graded games (ie. enter club competitions, or play in the Mid Sussex League), must additionally be members of the English Chess Federation (ECF).

Ladder:

Rate of play: 35 moves in 1 hour 15 minutes, then an extra 15 minutes to complete the game.

Scoring: 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw, 1 point for a loss.

Players may challenge a person above them or at the same level. No player should challenge the same person more than once in any calendar month. Anyone challenged should agree to play within one month unless already booked to play in other club matches which take precedence. The challenger will have the white pieces.

No more than one ladder game should be played per club night.

The winner will be the player with the highest number of points who does not win the Championship, Derrick, or Knockout competitions in that season.

All games will be graded.
