WCC Club Championship,

Derrick Trophy and Ron Saunders Trophy

Members who wish to play graded games (ie. enter club competitions, or play in the Mid Sussex League), must additionally be members of the English Chess Federation (ECF).

Club Championship:

Rate of play: 35 moves in 1 hour 15 minutes, then 15 minutes to complete.

Colours are decided at the start of the competition when players are entered in grading order and colours are made alternately.

If at the conclusion of games points are tied, then a series of 10 minute games will decide the winner.

All games will be graded.

 

Derrick Trophy:

Rate of play: 35 moves in 1 hour 15 minutes, then 15 minutes to complete. However, players can agree to a different time control as long as it is a minimum of 1 hour each.

Open to players graded 135 or less, and not entered for the Club Championship.

Colours will be decided at the start of the competition.

All games will be graded.

 

Ron Saunders Trophy:

The Ron Saunders Trophy is awarded to the most improved overall performance against higher rated opponents.
